What is SalRenTax?
SalRenTax is an independent multilingual calculator project that helps people understand salary, tax, rent, and labor-related estimates across eight country and language contexts. The site is designed to be useful before someone opens a payslip, compares an offer, or starts a budgeting conversation.
Why we built it
Payroll terminology and tax assumptions are not interchangeable between countries. SalRenTax keeps country-specific rules, currencies, and explanations separate instead of presenting a blind translation as a local calculation.
Our approach
- Use source-backed tax-year data where available.
- Keep calculation engines separate from the user interface.
- Describe assumptions and limitations in plain language.
- Test reusable calculation logic and route/SEO behavior.
- Review tax-year data before publishing changes.
How the calculators work
A user enters a small set of inputs in the browser. A country-specific TypeScript engine validates those inputs, applies the documented rules, and returns a structured breakdown for the page to format. Inputs are not submitted to SalRenTax by the calculator interface.
Editorial and calculation standards
We do not intentionally present an estimate as an official tax determination. Where a tool is simplified, the page says so. We do not claim professional tax credentials or 100% accuracy, and we do not publish unsupported country rules merely to target a keyword.
Updates and limitations
Tax laws, thresholds, payroll practices, and official guidance change. The tax year and review date are shown where relevant, but users should confirm important decisions with an employer, payroll professional, tax authority, or qualified adviser.
